New Orleans Mayor Cantrell pleads on national TV for federal disaster declaration

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell pleaded on a national TV broadcast on CNN for help with the coronavirus outbreak in the city. She asked for a declaration of a major disaster in New Orleans to open the city up for federal aid from FEMA.

Cantrell said that half of her EMS staff has been exposed to or has coronavirus.

Shortly after the segment aired, President Trump declared Louisiana a major national disaster area.

I saw news video with mayor mocking Trump about ‘not having Mardi Gras this year’, and that she would no way cancel Mardi Gras. Please help find that. Seems to be removed. Now she is blaming Trump for outbreak -oh if only she had known! 👿

The Governor can bring is the National Guard if he wants. My heart goes out to those affected by this. Perhaps we need to close all non essential travel out of NOLA much like Florida has done to prevent a spread.
