the biggest reason i love BFD is because of all the history behind the production and how the entire game is a satire on itself and other movies, but more importantly itself with a lot of the same spriteworks and textures from twelve tales, it's something they never could replicate or do with a sequel :p

Microsoft. You can do better than that. Give Conker his own full game this time. Do what Nintendo did with Rare games, take risks. Stop playing it too safe with the shooter genre and just for once, take advantage of the Rare IPs you have. For fuck's sake Microsoft. The only redeeming thing you have done with Rare is probably create an incomplete Killer Instinct that doesn't live up to it's legacy. It's still good but people expect Game of The Year material from Rare's collection of IPs, not good. Microsoft hasn't done anything excellent with Rare for ten fucking years.

It's interesting: the old "lighting", or lack thereof (but with deliberately coloured textures and stuff), seemed to automatically create a kind HDR-effect. Whereas this looks awfully dark and dreary, because any light parts don't really stand out from the dark parts. There are lot of tricky reasons why "modern" graphics of old-school 3D games often tend to look kind of weak.
