As far as I know...

For a while, King Ahadi loved both his sons equally, but that changed over time. Taka began to make friends with the hyenas living on the border of Ndnona's lion pride territory, which was, of course, forbidden to a lion.
From then on, Ahadi turned away from his second son, only caring for 'the golden boy' Mufasa. Muafasa's character also changed, he became pompous with his brother and spent less and less time with him.

I love how even though Scar turned his back on Mufasa, Mufasa still looks out for his younger brother. He could have driven Scar out of the Pride Lands long ago, but didn’t. He still thought there was good in him💔
