A lot of these states will pay for most if not the entire cost of a storm shelter if you get enough people in your area to request it.

From those of us in Nebraska: not something we wanted to share, but we'll take the decrease.

I don't understand the need for these shelters. Why not just go downstairs to the basement?

I heard this storm a couple days ago and I saw a message my friend had on her phone and it said "tornado 2% chance" so this might be what their talking about

I understand the need for a storm shelter, but all i see is a death trap honestly. If everything around you falls how are you even getting out?? You can't just slide an entire house sized load of of debris away from the door to open it. Also, what if it tips over door side down??

The eastward shift is overblown. The southeast, or Dixie Alley if you will, has been getting blown up with tornadoes every year, long before traditional Tornado Alley (the Great Plains) was a thing

With the Poles shifting, no weather event should surprise you.

I really hope it doesn't move towards the UK

I disagree, I think it's shifting west. Tornadoes in Santa Cruz and tornado warnings and funnel clouds spotted in Washington near Seattle. That's never happened before.

If it only withstands 200 mph it’s in trouble in Oklahoma

A place that’s safe? No natural disasters. Saskatchewan or Alberta. Aside from the far north wildfires. Only downside is the cold winter.

So it could possibly save your life but a strong cat 4 or cat 5 tornado will rip that shelter along with a foot of the ground right out of there.
