Uranus - Sounds Of Space Video Installation Excerpt

Показать описание
An excerpt from the larger Sounds of Space video work.
While science is beloved by the creatives, Sounds of Space was never intended as a purely scientific work so images and sounds are the best we could get from the resources available to us. Instead, Sounds of Space is intended to be an emotional work, encouraging the viewer to consider the vastness of Space and our place amongst the stars. Does Mars sound like it is telling us to stay away? Is Earth singing to us? Are we totally fucking relentlessly alone... I honestly don't know. But it's nice to look up and wonder. I hope Sounds of Space reminds at least one person to look up into the Universe.
Sounds of Space was created to be viewed on an exceptionally large scale, projected as big as you can make it so you are inside the work.
Sounds of Space was a volunteer run not-for-profit, free inclusive community exhibition at 107 Redfern st, Sydney from 17-27 August 2017 that merged the arts and sciences with two exhibition spaces; a large scale projection room showcasing the best in astrophotography and incredible recordings from Space, and a curated group show of mixed media works from an exciting collection of Australian artists. For 10 days in August 2017 over 2000 people engaged with the Universe.
