The problem is the sliding mechanism fails with time and it becomes very loose and basically does not close

USB 3.2 guess what, read/write speed is only up to 20mb/s, which is complete rubbish. I've just bought two 64 GB of this. I tried installing bootable Debian on the drives, and it took nearly 48 hours to complete the installation, I thought I had a problem with my thin client. Then used CrystalDisk to test both drives. And having read some online reviews, I now know why it's so cheap. This will eat up their Kingston reputation.

have 64GB, write speed is about 10-12 MB/s, while on some video reviews, write speed is 35 MB/s

WHY?

Even my 6 year old kingston usb drive write speed is about 43 MB/s

do not ever buy these. I bought one 256GB and this is the first thing I regretted buying in 2023. It's as slow as USB 2 in writing files. Just way too slow. Even the slower Sandisk pendrive is way faster than this. Copying huge file to sandisk could take like 45secs while this kingston model took more than 3 min. it's that huge of a difference. Save your money, do not buy this!

low speed, isnt 3.0.... speed transfer is about 10 MB/s, like the usb 2.0

Just bought 2 of these 128Gb drives, man are they slow. write speed at best is around 12MB/s but spends an awful lot of time sub 1MB/s even when transferring large files.
On plus side they were under half the price of the Sandisk 128Gb drives I use and I only needed these for archiving photographs and documents, I guess I can go and make a cup of tea and maybe bake some bread from scratch while the files finish copying, I may even go out for a walk, no hurry I guess
