June Carol 'JC` Lodge was born on, December 1st, 1958 in London, England.
When she left high school she and a song writing friend auditioned with Joe Gibbs. The producer was suitably impressed and invited JC to record Someone Loves You, Honey' in 1980. Her version of the song topped the Jamaican charts and was subsequently achieved gold and platinum sales in the Netherlands. The hit proved to be the top-selling single of the 1982 over Dutch charts.
She later signed with Augustus Gussie Clarke's Music Works label, which resulted in two albums `I Believe in You' and `Selfish Lover' albums. Her, `Telephone Love', crossed over into the US R&B charts and inspired Tommy Boy Records to sign her.
Other notable hits included `More Than I Can Say' and duets with Tiger, `Love Me, Baby' and Shabba Ranks, `Telephone Love.'
While enjoying musical notoriety she earned a teaching degree and balanced teaching alongside her musical career. Her teaching experience inspired her to write original children's songs. This venture was created to instil values and core curriculum knowledge to children in a fun filled way. Her efforts attracted the National TV Station in Jamaica to produce a 13-part children's television series in 2000 based on her cassettes. The programme `Sing 'n' Learn' that was deservedly recognised by the Press Association Of Jamaica and also the Caribbean Broadcasting Union.
