This Cypriot Snack Will Teleport YOU Back to Childhood!

In this video I share with you one of my all time favourite food combinations you can have in Cyprus. I am talking of course about the ultimate Cypriot breakfast: Loukanikopitta me galataki of course! If you want to experience a small sliver of the average Cypriot's childhood, look no further! Also in this video I show you *MY PERSONAL WAY* (which by the way is the best one) to enjoy Loukanikopitta me galataki. Finally in this video I offer a recommendation to enjoy this combination but in a more "adult" way by visiting a specific bakery in Nicosia.

I remember that old chocolate milk carton at 0:02 from holidays in the mid 80s.
I believe it was called Charalambides Dairies (CD) back then.
I think the new Galataki chocolate milk get pretty close to the old flavor so when ever I'm in Cyprus and go to buy groceries I always buy... lets say... plenty of them 🤣

That bread looks awesome 👍 If you are in the Netherlands again go to a supermarket and get:
1. a "chocomel"
2. a "frikandelbroodje"
3 a "rookworstbroodje"

Brood is bread, the "je" postfix means small.

Frikandel is. mystery meat sausage.
Worst is sausage. Rook is smoke, so rookworst is smoked sausage.

We also have rolls with cheese and meatloaf. A saucijzenbroodje is comparable to an English Gregg's roll.

Want a fusion dish? Get a satébroodje.

Local bakeries usually have better quality. The quality in supermarkets or HEMA is not too bad .

I’ve tried sausage pie couple of times and was not impressed by the quality. Maybe it’s time to give it another try. Or to bake my own.
