Assange is a journalist, cannot be tried by our laws because he is not a public servant who is bound by law to keep classified documents secret. It’s just like HIPPA and PHI. If I see someone else’s health records as a private citizen or receive copies of their information without the patients permission, I am not at fault for anything, it is the organization who collected the information and is holding it who is responsible for keeping it private and would be liable.
