I'm atheist, and that will never change, but I am thinking of joining The Satanic Temple. Not because I believe in any mythical being, but because I would like to join an activist group. I have looked up anarchists in my area, but the only instances I could find were inactive.

I think that it would also be fun to be able to tell my mom I am 'going to church', or am 'practicing my faith'. It would be the ultimate 'fuck you' to the abusive parent who only ever used religion as a stick to beat me with. Definitely not the main reason for doing it, though there's no shame in rebellion in a constructive way, but it would be a fun perk.

I loved this documentary. I'm not a religious person, and at first I hated religion but someone suggested be tolerant, and so I decided to try on liking them, and see how that felt and Satanism is the easiest to like. I think it is the friendliest religion. One of the most helpful because it stays close to its humanity.

I'm so sad that I live in South Carolina. Pretty much everyone here is an avid Christian and ultra conservative. Even the entire Upstate Atheists group is only around 300 members. As a fairly new nonbeliever (2 years), I want to interact with people of similar viewpoints and passions, but I can't find any. I want to scream at the top of my lungs about the injustices and prejudices here, but even the rowdy bar and rock crowds are, and stand behind Christian, privilege.

Pagan here; don’t believe in the big red guy. I will admit I do respect his followers because they are very much real in how they conduct themselves. They don’t go around shouting ugly things at people. They teach that CONSENT MATTERS! These people are potential allies in matters of equality, and so many people spit on them.

I love coming back to this comment section after a year and still seeing people arguing instead of actually sitting down and learning the meaning and purpose of things it's kind of sad that some choose not to get along because of beliefes, makes me glad i learned the teachings of satanism.

I just saw the documentary on Hulu and it was fantastic. It really does show how prejudiced a lot of Christians are towards religious minorities and yes, this does include Satanists. They view Satanists as evil due to their religion without even understanding what Satanism is really about through a non biased view. And granted, there are many variations of Satanism, just as there are many variations of the Christian faith. There is no one cut and dry answer. LET PEOPLE PRACTICE WHAT THEY WANT WITHOUT DISCRIMINATION AND HATE. LET THERE BE SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE.

AMERICA IS NOT A CHRISTIAN NATION. Americans have the freedom and right to practice whatever they desire so long as they hurt no one or commit criminal acts. Laws that are dictated by religion should not be implemented. And this includes abortion. If you think abortion goes against your religion, then great, don't get an abortion, but you can't force people to stay pregnant and carry out a pregnancy due to *YOUR* religious beliefs.
