Sometimes, there are sneaky little sounds in words that aren’t written at all. For example, in the word POPULAR, there’s actually a hidden Y sound that you might not have expected! Another important thing that I didn’t have time to mention in this video is to make sure the accented syllable is the POP part, so it’s not pop-PU-lar, it’s POP-yu-lar.
