Raw video: 2 men dead in motorcycle, bicycle crash in EaDo

Two men were found dead in a crash involving a motorcycle and a bicycle in east downtown Houston late Sunday night, according to the Houston Police Department.

This happened just after 10 p.m. on Palmer Street near McKinney Street.

I was at the scene and saw the whole thing. In my view this was nothing short of a murder, with the perpetrator paying as well. He was going easily 80/90 mph down a city street (speed limit 35) and the cyclist were on a well worn bike path, doing absolutely nothing wrong. Easily the most horrific thing I've ever witnessed and hope that poor woman is holding up.

A motorcycle crashed into a man on his bicycle. In the crosswalk. The bicyclist had the right of way. The motorcycle was traveling at highway speeds on city streets. Now it is a tragedy that both men died. When people are riding motorcycles at night. There are other people on the road. Even though you do not see them. Preventable tragedy, yes!

This is why bicycles should not be sharing the road with motor vehicles. At the very least, it should be discouraged rather than encouraged. These idiots think that drawing out a lane for the cyclists will keep them safe. It’s dangerous enough when you’re a motorist dealing with other motorists. Cyclists are gambling with their lives when they enter the street — especially at night!

Donor cycles go figure., A bicycle in the middle of the road has the right of way that's a good statement from the cop, I met lots of those bicycles.
