We begin with news of additional acts of aggression by North Korea.
Earlier on this Monday morning the regime launched short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea.
Here's our defense correspondent Kim Yeon-seung .
North Korea fires another ballistic missile off to the East Sea, just eight days after their latest ballistic weapons test.
South Korea's military and Japan's coast guard detected two fresh rounds of ballistic missiles fired off to the East Sea at around 7:47 AM to 8 AM.
Reports say that the missiles flew at least 350 kilometers and reached a maximum altitude of 50 kilometers.
South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff said that they're keeping an eye out on the situation for more details and keeping guard for any possible extra launches.
This latest missile launches follow a series of recent tests by North Korea, as tensions remain high on the Peninsula.
North Korea has been escalating its weapons testing while the Seoul-Washington allies have been increasing their combined field exercises.
In fact, this week, two significant events are taking place: the Ssangyong drill, the largest landing amphibious exercise in five years, and the arrival of one of the largest American warships, the U.S.-deployed Nimitz-class aircraft carrier in Busan.
The U.S. is also set to deploy nuclear-capable strategic assets to the Korean Peninsula for some of the upcoming field exercises, a move which has been met with unhappiness from North Korea.
