I can remember the clothes my current gf wore the first time I met her 18 years ago. I can remember sitting with my grandad age 2 like it was yesterday. I can't remember where I put my car keys every bloody day .

sadly, because of this, I still remember how my mum used to verbally abuse me, humiliate me along with many other things a mother or even anyone should never speak to a kid, recalling these vivid memories is basically the saying of healing your childhood for the rest and the entirety of your adulthood.

I made a to do list reminding me to print out a paper and then I lost that to do list but all's good because I was asleep and I dreamt of the to do list and what was on it

Strong memory: thing you are intellectually addicted to
Weak memory: things you struggle to care about

The tricky part is it is difficult to tell someone to feel differently about something, because feelings are reactionary, not rational. It's pretty much the same thing as telling a depressed person to "cheer up", even if it is something that they should be happy about like winning the lottery, that is what makes it an illness rather than a temporary state of mind.

ADHD is particularly nasty when it comes to memory, because not only do you have to somehow find a way to develop feelings for this thing, you often have to do it immediately, while juggling 5 other things in your head you cannot help but think about.

Do you have any games recommendations that can train our memory? I have difficulty to concentrate and also seems to easily forget.

I usually walk out the door with my phone, wallet, keys... thank to an Adam Sandler song called “phone, wallet, keys”... a little bit of cussing in the song... but it helps me remember my phone, and my wallet, and my keys...

Thank you for talking about this❤ I find that it’s very hard to describe my cognitive experience. I was only diagnosed 2 years ago, and I’m 25. I’m still figuring out what is going on in my brain. I can remember specific moments from when I was 6 years old, but I can’t remember making plans with a friend 2 days ago. It’s not that I don’t care, but if I’m not reminded the night before, I will be so wrapped up in my thoughts and anxieties that I won’t have a moment to reflect on my past couple days, to remember that I made plans.. or appointments.. or have deadlines. I truly care so much, that’s why it’s so hard to have people around me that don’t understand. They think I don’t care.. and it’s so far from the truth. Learning about my adhd has helped me communicate that to other people. Our minds really do function differently. The more I learn the better I can express that to the people around me. I spent most of my life thinking I was a bad person. “If people say I’m lazy, I must be” “if people say I’m self centred and only care about myself, I must be” truth is I’m just so overwhelmed all the time, my brain won’t shut up long enough to realize what’s really happening around me. I just want to learn and understand and be a better person. Thank you for this video. Writing things down helps a lot, great tips ❤

The only way I am actually looking at my to-do list is if it is somewhere where I care about going to anyway - I have my to-do list embedded into my journal pages - digitally using Notion - and most likely than not, I am going to that page, because that is where I write down my thoughts on stuff that I studied that day, things that I cared about, so at times, I actually look at my to-do list. However, that does not mean I am doing that stuff, it just means that I am a little more likely to look at it, and remember what I am supposed to be doing. Maybe this will help someone else too, even just a tiny bit. I have never been able to work with separate to-do apps, or with paper versions of to-do lists. They do not look nice, so my brain does not want to look at them, but if I would work on making them look nice, I would spent time on making it pretty, and not actually doing the stuff that is on the list, lol.
