Week Ahead – Fine start then winter returns at the end of the week

High pressure brings most of the UK a fine start to the week but the end of the week looks far more lively with cold and gusty winds and sleet and snow showers too. Alex Deakin has the details.

Looking at the latest 00z GFS E, SE parts of the country from the 29th looks like warming nicely into April

Not all that cold for late March, can get deep snow into April, but it's looking like maybe showers of snow pellets or ice grains to low ground, possibly settling overnight, but nothing on the ground during the day, maybe night frosts, nothing really to get excited about.

I just looked at the Met office website forecast for the weekend, and it forecasts warmer than this video. 12 or 13 deg C for Plymouth, not the 9 it shows on this video, quite a difference! Why the difference? Next week does look a lot warmer.
