These are my 5 minimalist home decor tips for anybody who wants to decorate a minimal space with intention! As a passionate minimalist and interior design enthusiast I wanted to give you my simplest and most budget-friendly advice for minimalist homes. We go over many interior design ideas like accent walls, painting, staining floors, creating color palettes and choosing a style - simple, scandinavian, DIY etc. The rules of minimalism do not exclude a house or apartment decorations with rich or dark colors, patterns and textures. It's all about how you combine them in your minimal design.

Aesthetically, I tend personally to favour a visually calming palette (warm whites and soft greys), with warmth through texture, wooden floors, soft paper side-lighting and plants.  In other words, something close to Scandinavian or traditional Japaneses styles. Calm, but not clinical. Entirely a subjective presence.

"Ma" is a Japanese concept that resonates with me, as well (the use of negative space).
