Carlos is one of a handful of great guitarists that has such a unique tone that you know it's him playing within 3 notes

I'm a middle-aged white dude, and I can tell ya that NO ONE wants to see me dancing. But this song, this live version, ANY version of it, and I just cannot hold still. If you're not moving to this, you've got no soul!

I remember when this came out. Everyone was calling it Santana's comeback, which annoyed me because I had been going to his shows for years. In hindsight, however, I can see that this song introduced an entirely new generation to the magic of Carlos Santana's music...and it's such a great tune 💃💃💃

Supernatural — gotta do the whole album.
Not one bad note and many different singers.

It's no wonder why Santana's Supernatural album won 9 Grammys and Smooth won Granmys for Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Maybe you could check out Santana and Everlast performing Put Your Lights On. 🙌👍✌️

Love hearing this again. Honestly, in 1999 when it came out, at first it was a great summer jam, but then it got SO overplayed on the radio we all ended up wishing it would just stop for a while. I guess you CAN have too much of a good thing. But so happy to listen again 20 years later! I remember why we all loved it so much.

There's a great article on this song. The amount of work and coordination it took for this song to get produce/made was insane. It took a stupid amount of convincing Carlos to do it, and then the writing process took months. When Rob wrote the original chorus he said it was instead a "Pre-Chorus" (the "smooth" part), but another part had to be the chorus. So Rob went back and wrote the "It's just like the ocean" section. It was a miracle this song got made at all.

Carlos Santana is an exceptional guitar and doesn't get the credit he deserves for his playing.

That is just a Taste of what you'll experience at a Santana concert. Carlos makes sure you'll be entertained with a mix of polished arrangements and freestyle jam sections. He is a conductor of his band and feeds off the audience which dictates the direction of the music. Something he's been doing for 50 years now.

Who doesn't love Carlos Santana? And who doesn't love Rob Thomas? Match made in heaven. One of my favorite songs...bar none!

It's sad that it took so long for Santana to get his Grammy win. Love that Rob Thomas got it done. It was long overdue.
