Just seeing this. You were jamming! Please disregard my request to film the old bridge at Port Allen and Baton Rouge. Thanks for sharing.

Very arty.  The 3 trips down through that bridge I made on larger boats they weren't finessing it like you.  It was more like middle of the riv and backing until you thought the rivets and bolts were all going to shake loose on the back.

That's exactly how I paddle my canoe. Except I only need 6 inches of water. From the San Joaquin Valley California.

Smooth as a good Tennessee whiskey. Love your video's and looking forward to your next one. Question. It seems like this has been a bad winter for towboats, every day or so we see where another sinking or some other mishap even a loss of life. What are your thoughts on this, is this average.

After you go under the bridge, you'll be able to see my cousin's former plantation home called Monte Vista on the Port Allen side.

You've got the moves, like Jagger! While flacking, do have any power on? I'm thinking slow astern to keep the back on the inside of the bend...

Why don't you take the center span instead of waiting for the head to come all the way around to the right span is that where the channel is great job very interesting to watch

Brings back fond memories catching Baton Rouge S/B on the Sierra Dawn(WBL/Artco).Calling traffic control and hang on.Only we didn't call it Wilkerson Point. It was known as Free something or other years ago.Ha.

Hey, I know this might be a history question, but is flanking a technique that the old riverboats even used as long ago as Twains days as a captain?

Question how much does the rigging weight from ratchets to cables to the straps .been strength training to pass the test for the boat

Kyle, on a bend like that, do you ever have to drop the strbd engine into reverse to bring the head around better while keeping the stern close to the bank? Thanks for the commentary and comments! Jim

Great video capt, just curious. What made you decide to solely become a trip pilot versus being full time at a company. I've been on the river 5+ years and have my sights set on the wheelhouse and know that trip pilots kinda negotiate their own pay, is that why?
