Dodgers didn’t get lucky, they invested into their organization and hired the right people, the cubs traded a haul for Jose Quintana…

Cubs could have signed Snell but didn't offer contract, Scott but didn't offer contract, Yates but didn't offer contract, Sasaki didn't want to play IN Chiraq

Cubs made over $500 million in revenue in 2023. They’re in a top 5 city. There’s no excuse for them not to spend. For christs sake they never gave a player a contract above $200 million.

I wonder if the Cubs would have done better overall by staying on WGN?

100% agree on RBI not being a random stat. I think the situation that puts you in an RBI situation IS random, but there are a wide variety of potential outcomes once in that situation.

Sam, this may have been your best solo broadcast yet.

The biggest mistake that the Cubs made was not trading Schwaber when they had the chance to get a haul.

The “they didn’t have money after COVID” reason for non tendering Schwarber is such BS. They literally signed Joc Pederson like a week after that for the same amount of money Schwarber was owed

Cubs did shit.. They traded for 10 extra home runs. Ricketts needs to go.

Sosa what's good about a cheat.I loved Sosa but when it came out he was using enhanced drugs and that he was using a corked bat, that broke my heart. He became a dishonest person and you put a cheat in the storied Cubs HALL of Fame, that did it for me, maybe you young kids don't care about honesty and actually breaking records without cheating then this truly is a lost generation have a nice day.

EVERY team wants to win, every team cares. The Dodgers IMOO have put in place and created a super-structure; built super-front office and a super machine of scouting, financial structure and STABILITY. They have plans within pans, they have done their homework for the past 10-15 years; they have invested and trusted in players and management. They have developed a place where this is apparent to players, who they offer positions and roles, that this team is a long term place where they can grow and potentially win year after year. These new players came willingly.

If breaking even is the most important thing, you don't care about winning, and you don't have any business owning a team.

I have been to at least 1 game in every MLB stadium. Wrigley has the best aura. Plus the fans travel well. Even when Cubs are not playing there are tons of Cubs jerseys

The part you don’t talk about is that the Dodgers are making MLB loads of $$ Even small market owners love the Dodgers

Thanks for your hard work on the solo shows Sam. I agree that Pressly is not worth 14m. We just signed Jon Berti for $2m to be our utility guy. If Jed signs Robertson or Jansen, that's fine. However, if that is his last big move, I will be angry. You still have room to add Flaherty for one yr $25m.
