Expanding Access in Our Communities​

Efforts are underway at UC San Diego Health to expand access to world-class care throughout San Diego County.

This expansion includes the 302-bed East Campus Medical Center, as well as new primary care clinics in Bankers Hill, East Lake and Carmel Valley. We're also revitalizing the medical center campus in Hillcrest, where a new outpatient surgical center will open in 2025, bringing the newest technologies and innovations to the community.

Catheryn Yashar, MD, a radiation oncologist, serves as the chief of gynecologic and breast radiation services and medical director of the La Jolla radiation oncology clinic. She is also the chief medical officer of our La Jolla and Hillcrest hospitals.
