Why are many Texans denied SNAP benefits due to car value?

A new Texas law can affect how those struggling to feed their families may have their benefits adjusted by what kind of car they own.

SNAP benefits are eligible to households based on income, resources and family size. As of last month, over a million SNAP benefit cases have been filed across Texas.

That probably explains why my mom just got denied food stamps. Our car is an old Cadillac from 2011 (it was the last car dad got before he died in 2012). It's still in good shape and I drive her around in it because she can't drive. We are in need and then I randomly ran across this video. I had no idea this was a thing! You have no idea what anyone is going through. And the Cadillac isn't even an expensive one!

Texas workers in the office to give out snap benefits are sad . This is not right not even for me being disabled during storms are anything for this matter I bet if they have family members they are getting the full benefits and some they all need to be examined!!!

When my brother died, my mom got his car. Her food stamps were canceled. She is 86.

About damn time, back in 2009 when Obummer illegally entered the white house; the hood rats had new Camaros and Chargers, Navigators, BMW, Jags and would go to the grocery store, pay for an entire grocery cart full of unhealthy processed food with EBT.

If one can afford the latest iPhone and a new Camaro, one clearly does not need EBT or any other handouts.

Lots of people working for cash under the table, paying no taxes, receiving lots of benefits. Looking at what someone owns is a good idea. If someone has a new $1500 phone or expensive car, that is a good indicator they don't need basic assistance.

I was once gifted a nice car from a wealthy individual, because they saw that I was in need and gave me the car out of the kindness of their heart. You have no idea the circumstances of how that individual received the vehicle.

Cuz if you have a car payment, an Iphone, you don't deserve snap.... Stop blowing your money on car & phone payments, And ya gots food money!!!!
