Conte was such a revolution bringing the 3 at the back tactic to the Premier League, barely anyone use it before him, but after him, a lot clubs also start using it

Kante and Azpi still in the team and giving their best after Conte. Very resilient guys.

I think Tuchel would have more goals per game than Conte if he had a striker like Diego Costa because we are attacking and creating more under him. I miss Diego Costa so much 😪

Great video!

Both Conte & Tuchel are implement “positional play” in their systems, but the difference was in their use of possession. Conte’s attack focused more on automatisms and pre-planned attacking moves and we saw this consistently with the way hazard, costa and Pedro linked up.

Tuchel’s attack hasn’t fully clicked, but is more fluid and highly flexible with constant rotations among the forward players. On paper, Conte’s 343 is quite rigid and turns into a 325 in attack as a basic 343 would. Tuchel’s 343 is flexible with Mount & Havertz being key to that tactical flexibility.

Both hybrid players, Mount can perform as either a no.8/no.10 while Havertz can also play as a no.9/10. Tuchel’s 343 can seamlessly transition into a 352 with mount dropping into the midfield to form a trio with Jorginho and Kante as Werner & Havertz reposition to form a front two if the need arises during a game.
Tuchel’s versatility means Chelsea can be adaptable and can move between a 343 and 352 without having to make a substitution while Conte’s was more rigid.

In my opinion, Tuchel has more aces up his sleeve because he isn’t wedded to the 343 like Conte and could also lineup Chelsea in a back 4 next season. Tuchel said “he will build a team that no one wants to play against” and if winning the UCL is the starting point for this team, the potential is truly scary under Tuchel.

Great analysis once again!

Tuchel formation brings the high pressure that Antoni wasn't using that which is decent if u have players with good stamina

I think Conte revived the 3-back formation but Tuchel evolved it to adapt to false nine and so many other key functions. Could you do a tactical analysis of Nuno and what he can bring to Tottenham?

Can you do a video about Antonio Conte tactics this season?
They won the serie a and they were incredible

Conte's system was attacking and had alot of exciting play. Probably because you had Hazard and Costa and experience of Fabregas and Pedro.
Tuchel may lack the attacking firepower but has the most Solid defence and flexibility of play. Just one CF away from total domination

Conte had everyone going back 3 crazy and Victor Moses was amazing that season just brilliant!!!!

This was great! Haven’t seen any of these so called “expert pundits” talk about the tactics in detail like this.

Main difference for me was Conte's use of the wingers (Alonso and Moses) driving up field, , , , and Tuchel's classy use of the midfield : the defence could easily switch midfield and the midfielders could readily assist the front 3.

Credit to Kante who's adapted to every coach's style of play

That background tract is what plays in kante's head when he is running like crazy to come from behind and put in an immaculate tackle tackle so clean the atacker doesnt even want to pretend he was fouled

Kinda love how Sarri was right about Kante all along. We're finally reaping the rewards of his idea.

What do you think of both these teams?

Perhaps the reason Tuchel’s team didn’t score a lot of goals last season was as you pointed out, most teams didn’t press and therefore less space in behind for the attackers to run in behind..I trust Tuchel to come up with something this season though, he’s a smart guy

If these two faced each other I think it would be a really tough, low scoring game as both defences are strong but Diego Costa would make the difference. He was key to us winning so many points, a clutch player that could score from nothing
