Hole in the lid, on the top. Gives the air somewhere to enter other than the spout, makes for much better flow.

Please take the advice of those advising you to make a to make a tiny hole in the lid. That is how clay teapots are made. Letting air in through an additional hole is what will perfect the flow.

1. Hole in lid for airflow.
2. Outward notch on lid that goes under rim and holds lid in place.
3. Lower the spout. The higher it is, the further you have to tilt and then whether you follow step 2 or not, the lids gonna fall off.
4. There's a science to teapots. It might be wise to do some research into it. Besides, seeing the history of how humanity discovered the methods is super interesting.

Most Teapot lids have a notch on them that hooks under the back of the rim. Try adding one of those.

Hi! It’s common misconception that thicker walls hold heat better, but it’s actually the opposite. If the walls are thick the heat from the water will have to warm up a bigger amount of cold clay than if it’s less clay. I hope this makes sense

One of the things you need to take into consideration with spouts is that if it's placed high, you can't really get at the tea at the bottom of the pot without tipping it over to an extreme angle... which will make the lid fall off.

Another thing about the spout, is that you need a rough edge to "cut" the water when it pours. This will allow the water to stop when you want it to instead of dribbling down the side of the pot.

Generally, a thrift or antique store of any significant size will have some teapots you can peek at for reference & reverse engineer how other artists have solved/prevented issues you may be having. Applicable for a decent amount of other pottery as well.
Something I’ve noticed is that the pouring end of the spout always winds up level with the top of the teapot or higher, so it doesn’t overflow, but the place it’s attached is always low so tea can flow into the spout easily.
If you increase the angle, you’ll be able to attach it lower without issue. If you want to keep the place where you attach it high, one will always have to tip your teapots at a more extreme angle to get the tea out. Only way I can think of offsetting it is to add some sort of internal structure that mimics that function. And I can see why you may want to keep the spout high, it does look very cute!

Also, when making the spout use a skewer or other long, straight, rounded utensil to create a slight groove/dip on the bottom inside of the spout. Getting the trim on the end of the spout is also key to the pour and whether it dribbles down the front or has a smooth stream of tea. :) I love making teapots gosh i miss it

I've heard tea-pots are some of the hardest things to get right, so huge props for taking on such a challenge! I really admire how you're facing this creative endeavor with positivity and not letting the mistakes get to you and learning from them. Keep it up!

They are very cute, but it might be worth looking at some tea pots online or instore, maybe borrowing or buying one just to see how those ones are designed, especially on the inside. The lids on your teapots are nicely designed but are really massive. Loving the design of the latest (on this video) teapot (Autumn theme!!).
Most teapots have the base of the spout lower down, with the tip of the spout high up.

I would recommend place the spout lower and have it stretch to a higher position
Attaching the base of the spout so high on it means you have to basically flip the thing at a 90 degree angle to pour
Putting the base of it lower means the liquid will come out easier but have the end higher and not at the same level as the base means the when you fill it with water it won’t automatically pour out!
Good luck!

There’s a reason teapot lids have a tiny hole in the top…apart from let a little steam out…it’s to let air in the pot as you pour, so you have a better flow.
Check out Chinese clay teapots… you might enjoy what you find.

I'm saying this according to fluid mechanics, keep the spout a little higher from d bottom (like 2 - 3 cms), and make the spout a little taller. Also add a small hole in lid for air flow. Hope this helps
