Fishing has been an integral part of my life since the age of six. From the early days of riding my BMX bike with all my kit down to our local fishing spot, to nowadays where I find myself daydreaming far too much about the next fishing trip with friends. I want to pass on to any child, teenager, or adult something that I have designed, learned, improved on or seen someone else do. This is the side I love about fishing – the learning, questioning the boundaries, maybe improving then teaching or passing on. At my core I am a fisherman, love the bite especially when it’s on, but right next to that is this desire to meet, talk and see what other fisherman are doing that is different to what I know.

The strongest and easiest line-to-lure knot of all time is the Palomar Knot. I HAVE...on dozens of occasions at outdoorsman shows, gotten a Palomar Knot to hold 100% line strength when tested with the pull-scales at the fishing line company booths. This one guy at a Stren fishing line booth years ago was teaching people how to properly tie the Improved Clinch Knot and when he was done, I took the line, ran one end through the eye, formed a loop and ran the tag end back through the eye and tied a simple overhand knot with the loop and passed the lure through the loop after. Then wetted the knot, cinched it and clipped the tag end. When he put it on the the pull scale, the line broke and the knot held at 100%. Mr. Stren couldn't believe his eyes. He did the test himself and then he tried tying three more Palomar Knots, tested them and got the same result. Mr. Stren said "Thank you for teaching me that!" and went to tell his other Mr. Stren buddies about what I just showed him. 😄

Great content. Love the toit knot. Just when you think you've got knots down:). Curious to see the jacks knot 2.0 tested. Beat out the palomar easily, and broke the line before the knots broke on a few tests between the double putzin and toit( only using 10-30lb line) . Braid i just double the wraps. Thanks!
