Accident on FM 43 sends one to hospital

An accident on FM 43 sent one man to the hospital and caused delays for parents trying to drop their kids off at London ISD schools this morning.
According to DPS Troopers at the scene, the driver of an SUV was headed east on FM 43 at about 8 a.m. when he swerved into the path of an oncoming tractor trailer.
Troopers say the impact crushed one side of the SUV, trapping the driver inside.
The driver had to be cut out of the wreckage and was taken to an area hospital with possible broken bones and other injuries.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
Traffic on FM 43 had to be diverted because of the wreck, and only parents dropping their kids of at school were allowed through.
