I was at the Yerevan concert and it was 3.5 hrs of pure delight! The armenian folk song he learned in less than a day. It's called I'll die for the wind of the mountains and it's about unfulfilled love and pain. Cheers from Vienna, Austria😊

It's called I Would Die For The Wind Of The Mountains
At the first time he performed an Armenian folk song on his concert in Armenia on April 29, 2023.
He'd barely sung the first note and all my body hair stood up. Goosebumps over goosebumps. He learned this song the day before I heard. And he wasn't sure he would feel confident enough to perform it. But eventually he decided to sing it. In the end of the song he imitates an Armenian Flute, the Duduk, with his voice. The whole song is so incredible.

He only learned the song a couple of hours before the concert. He was originally going to sing a different song but heard this one and changed his mind. So not only did he have to learn a whole new song he had to learn it in a completely new language.

I was at the concert in Yerevan, and this was the most breathtaking moment of the evening. Goosebumps on goosebumps, and tears flowing, and I am not even Armenian. I can tell you that most Armenians around me were completely in tears. I have been watching all your Dimash reactions, and usually it is “easy” to love Dimash when he does his crazy high notes, so I didn’t subscribe just yet. But the fact that you felt this one, and appreciated it for its beauty, earns you a new subscriber! Love from Belgium.

Sareri Hovin Mernem is the title of the song in roman characters. Sometimes also known as 'Let me die in the wind of the mountains'. Although it was a song sung by a woman about her missing lover, it later became symbolic of the Armenian genocide. Sometimes called the first genocide of the twentieth century, the Armenian genocide refers to the physical annihilation of Armenian Christian people living in the Ottoman Empire from spring 1915 through autumn 1916. There were approximately 1.5 million Armenians living in the multi-ethnic Ottoman Empire in 1915. At least 664, 000 and possibly as many as 1.2 million died during the genocide, either in massacres and individual killings, or from systematic ill treatment, exposure, and starvation.

There is ancient legend about two of the mountains in the Armenian Par Mountain Range- Sukavet and Aladakh. Sukavet was a shepherd boy, the son of a priest, and Aladakh was a beautiful sheik's daughter. They fell in love but their parents were against it. They ran away on Ascension day to be together, but the parents cursed them and they turned into two mountains that could only look at one another but not touch. Every year on the day of Ascension, they meet in the night to embrace, and part again at dawn.

These are the lyrics auto-translated from the Armenian:

Let me die for the shepherd of the mountains, I will die to the shepherd, I will die to the shepherd.
Let me die my brother, I want to die, I want to die, I haven't seen him in a year.
Let me die in the eyes of the beholder. I haven't seen him for a year.
Rivers don't bring water, They don't bring water, they don't bring water.
They don't bring news from my neighbour, They don't bring news, they don't bring news.
Don't exist! The heart is frozen, You don't bring me love anymore.
Don't exist! The heart is frozen, You don't bring me love anymore.
I'm tired: I can't come, I can't come, I can't come,
I'm full: I can't be silent, I can't be silent, I can't be silent
I haven't seen him for a year, let me die before the eyes of the beholder.
Yars is always in my heart, But I can't name him
Yars is always in my heart, But I can't name him
Let me die in the wind of the mountains, I will die in the wind, I will die in the wind.
I want to die, I want to die, I want to die, I haven't seen him in a year,
I want to die in the eyes of the beholder. I haven't seen him for a year.

This is a different translation into English. They are not the same. I'd love to know which is nearest to the original.

I'll die for the wind of the mountains
I'll die for the wind, I'll die for the wind
I'll die for the height of my beloved
I'll die for the height, I'll die for the height

I stopped, I can't come
I can't come, I can't come
I'm filled, I can't cry
I can't cry, I can't cry

I haven't seen in a year,
Those who've seen, oh beloved, I'll die for their eyes
The rivers don't bring water
They don't bring any news from you

Your heart must be frozen
Your love, oh beloved, they don't bring it in vain
I stopped, I can't come
I can't come, I can't come

I'm filled, I can't cry
I can't cry, I can't cry
I haven't seen in a year,
Those who've seen, oh beloved, I'll die for their eyes

It's about a crippled and can't move who can't see their love, and Haven't for one year, a song of grief and sorrow..

You know he has several of his concerts on his channel. Many reactors do the entire concert in segments, like two to three songs at a time. I was not sadly at this concert but I have seen bits and pieces of it from those who were there and at his last concert in Turkey. Both looked to be outstanding. What other artist do you know will hand a microphone to a fan to hold to his mouth so he can practically lay down on stage to sign autographs while he sings? I did however go to the New York concert. Unbelievable night.

La canción se llama "Moriré por el viento de la montaña" se la aprendió horas antes del concierto y no se sentía seguro de presentarla porque no sabía si estaba listo para cantarla, pero que bueno que al final se decidió y nos dejó esta joya.❤😅
