Those clips and etudes are seriously useful Troy, I went headlong into Deal Country which I was finding an amazing piece of music and technique and couldn't get out of my head. It's kind of interesting how Troy went from shred machines and GIbsons early on and now we see him playing the short scale Fenders almost exclusively on the electric guitar side. Is it because the string tension allows an ideal balance between flatpicked and other techniques? This is one area I never saw Cracking the Code tackle - instrument design.

Still blows my mind to see how much of the pick you have exposed below your grip on it. When I play, I leave barely enough out to hit the string. Makes me wonder how much that plays into technical ability.
