Boy, they were the total package, weren’t they? Talent, good looks, seemingly good guys. Dang.

If Fil isn't a music educator with an advanced university degree, I will be shocked. His technical expertise and ability to articulate his appreciation of a performance is stunning. Well done!

I adored the Everlys. They were my first musical memory as a tiny child. RIP Don, together again with Phil. I am very sad today. The Everly's influence on music is incalculable.

I never really thought about how perfect the harmonies are for the Everly Brothers. You grow up with them and you take them for granted.
Thanks for a small peek inside the inner workings of their music.

Nobody harmonized like the Everly Brothers... NOBODY. They were one of my favorites... I listened to Elvis, the Everly Bros... Dion & The Belmonts... all the Doo Wop Groups... this was my music growing up...

Fil, as an old fart who has lived through much of this history, it is absolutely inspiring to see a young guitarist so enthusiastic and well versed in the roots of the music we all love. Creativity is tantamount, but EVERYTHING came from somewhere, and even the most revolutionary new music is almost always a synthesis of various earlier elements, combined with an artist's originality, coming together to make something new. Great info and very well presented. Superb vids!

Fil's unbroken attention is what make this series great.

I appreciate that a man of your generation is respectful and appreciative of the music from other generations. I can see from your smile you really enjoy the music.

I was fortunate to see The Everly Brothers in concert back in 2003 when they were touring with Simon and Garfunkel. S&G did the first half of the show and then Paul Simon told the audience that all he and Artie ever wanted was to be as good as the Everlys. Then he said "Here they are, Phil and Don!" The place when nuts as Don Everly hit those opening chords to "Wake Up Little Suzie." The show was raised to a whole new level, and it's something I'll never forget.

I worked as crew with the Everly Brothers back in the 60, s. Don and Phil are quite a bit more then you state. Their Father Ike Everly was a big part of their success. If you worked with Don and Phil like I have you find a very richer observation about Don and Phil that you tend to miss of course on TV. The two young man were groomed for the music business by the father Ike. Their harmony and guitar skills were the best I have ever seen in the 60, s.They were greatly respected by all the other pros in the business then. The most outstanding things about Don and Phil is they would have been the most skilled harmony singers the world has ever seen.

I've watched this clip before, but it's just unreal that this is a live recording. Those guys were such pros!

My dad used to sing bits and pieces of the Everly Brothers to me and my sister's when were very young. I have loved them ever since ❤

That live performance is so far beyond most studio recordings, today, it's insane. No auto tune, no vocal rider, no more than a good live mixer. They are the standard for vocal harmony.

So glad you let Dream play through without interrupting. Lots of respect for your commentary from someone who was 9 yrs old and remembers this beauty playing on the radio. Harmonic perfection. Made this 68 yr old woman cry. Thank you.
