Today we straight pipe our $850 V12 Mercedes S600! Our goal is to make it sound like a Pagani with a cheap F1 exhaust mod for only $180! We bought this wrecked W220 S600 at salvage auction for only $850, cheapest in the USA. This is part 8 of the rebuild series. Will it sound like Effspot's S600?

$180? Everyone knows the only way to achieve a Pagani sound is with a $12, 000 exhaust. Did I say 12k or what? 12k.

Hey guys, an alternative to the equal length headers is to run an “elongated x pipe” where the pipes merge into one 2 foot or so section, and then split again. It equalizes the waves from the different banks, and gets you an extremely similar zonda-esque sound to the equal length headers, for a fraction of a price. For example, one guy did it with an E31 BMW 850Ci and Ferrari 599 mufflers and did an excellent job documenting.

W220s need to have the pedal replaced as its early drive-by-wire so they fail with miles/age. Not a crazy expensive part.

I merged the pipes on my S600 using a y-pipe merger into a single pipe which split in the rear. It has a higher pitched note. You can see the video of it on my channel.
Also planning on getting the equal length headers from Brilliant Exhaust very soon.

Fly by wire accelerator pedal issue, most likely the throttle position sensor. Had the same issue on a 2000 S500. Try doing the reset mentioned below, otherwise you’re looking at a possible replacement pedal assembly...
