In this video, we're going to cover some Brawl News regarding the next Brawl Stars update! The Brawl Pass is getting reworked so that you can no longer purchase it with gems. All Brawl Passes will require in-app purchases.

This may be a controversial change, but after all of the buffs to the f2p progression experience, I think most people will be pretty happy with the changes coming in the next Brawl Stars update.

As a F2P I think buying the bp with gems was one of the best parts of the game. Getting to that brawler and then eventually that skin felt rewarding

As much as I like the buff, I honestly don't like that F2P's can no longer buy the pass. It just gets rid of the excitement. Hopefully they add new and exciting things!

This is one of the only choices the dev team has made that has me worried. As a free to play player I’m a bit worried about it, but I’m staying optimistic. Hopefully it boosts the amount of players, and now I’ll be able to buy skins without feeling guilty!

Speaking to this bit at 28:00 about cosmetics being the wrong ones: They should add a "wishlist" feature in the shop where, so long as you select a sufficient number of items that you want, your chances of getting them from a stardrop are increased compared to other things of the same category.

It would also keep track of which items you personally want to buy with bling yourself, while promoting interest in cosmetics: Now I can sort which things I want, have a clear goal readily accessible in game for me to see and work towards, it's all positives.

If you can wishlist cosmetics only available for gems, perhaps sometimes you'd get a notification when that skin went on sale, which would promote monetization of cosmetics (which is a gigantic plus - much better to monetize on cosmetics than ingame benefits).

If the chromatic problem was oversaturation, why go from 21 chromatics to 22 mythics? This feels counterintuitive and even though shifting some to lower ranks like rare and super rare really feels like a loss in value, would've made more sense. I think rebalancing that would be effective, seeing how the legendaries seem the most reasonable.

As a F2P player one of the biggest things that I enjoy in the game is collecting the bling/finishing the BP to unlock skins I like and make me feel cool while playing. Skins are actually one the things I look forward to most in updates. So I hope that bling doesn't get nerfed too much and that the Power League changes balance it out because I also enjoy PL a lot

From the perspective of a medium spender, I don’t really like this change. I would spend money on every other season and use the free gems to get the other seasons. Now I’m being forced to purchase the pass 12 times a year instead of 3. Also I haven’t missed a single cosmetic from any of the passes since they first started doing the pass and now I’m starting to question if I’ll be able to afford getting all the cosmetics.

I think the Devs are playing with fire here. They just added Starr Drops, Hypercharge, reworked the clubs, and now they are fully remaking the Brawl Pass. They are making way too many drastic changes too soon just to attract new players, but it's not really working and they are scaring away the people who have been playing for years. In a couple of months, the game will probably be completely new.

Why did they ever remove boxes? Stardrops are just going in the places boxes used to be, in the battle pass

The “daily” concept was fine for me since school didn’t take up that much time, but now with me in college and trying to balance that with work, playing daily has been near impossible for me, and not even just brawl. I play many games, so I only ever have time to play one game for a little bit per day. I’m glad that they are putting some effort into making the game more enjoyable to people who don’t have the time to play every day.

I liked the idea of chromatic brawlers, but my main problem with them was how quickly there were so many of them, it just felt wierd

This upcoming rework makes sense I suppose, as much as I loved getting brawl passes every 4 months, a lot of people felt punished for using their gems on something else. And yes, not only did seasons drag on for too long, especially if you play everyday til tier 70, which is also the most common stopping point for anyone who doesn't always have brawl stars on their mind.

They took all the precautions, progression won't be nerfed, but I can't not be scared of change lol

As a F2P Player, it deeply hurts that Brawl Pass will be an in-app purchase now, I don't really care about the buff, what I truly care was the excitement and effort you've put through your Pass, having those special cosmetics, I'm sure that the community will be mad as well.

I don't mind having Star Drops in the game but it just feels wierd to have those little Lootboxes after they removed the old Lootboxes

Being honest, these changes are making me less interested in purchasing passes or just playing in general. I haven’t missed a pass yet but I don’t like being forced to spend more often

Edit: since people keep on misunderstanding the comment I’ll say I have to spend more money more often to get the things I spent for previously instead of “forced to”

one thing that i’m really worried about is that with how incredibly more effective the new brawl pass is, that there’s going to be a disconnect between paid players and free to play ones.
Like paid players would have significantly more maxed brawlers to use in power league that i think it’s a bit sad since ftp can do less since they won’t be able to have enough maxed brawlers to contend.
Also i feel like this would also make another issue more problematic. That is with power levels, with the recent changes to power levels being more significant, it means that players who don’t have enough resources won’t be able to use characters since the gap in stats is just too big to be made up in slill

Kairos his F2P series is the best thing to happen to this channel. Not only is it entertaining to watch it has also given him a lot of insight. Which means videos like these are very well thought out.

Buying the Brawl pass with gems has always been a must for everyone. It makes the game more interesting and makes you think more about saving gems and all that stuff. With it gone, I am not sure how they may make it more interesting with new updates. All we can do is wait.
