the memories of being in banoi, fighting zombies at 12am with your friends. The story and gameplay might have not been good but this game for sure has a spot in my heart as one of the best zombie games i've ever played

I miss this game, dying light 1 and 2 have been fantastic but this game had such an atmosphere that I don’t think will ever be matched

I still listen to this for the nostalgia. The game got so much hate, but despite the glitches it was a fun time. My experience with the public lobby was more positive than any other game. There was one guy that joined me and he was HILARIOUS! I couldn’t even play I was doubled over laughing half the time. He helped me with a bunch of missions, chaotically (he kept getting jumpscared and dying in the dumbest ways it was too perfect). I was too shy to speak and I’m still upset I never said thank you. I also met a group of guys from the UK and we’d play together everyday. I wish I could go back and record it all.

No idea where any of these gamers are now, but if they ever see this: thanks so much for being absolute bros, and for all the great memories! You were the highlight of my childhood.

Even though its nothing like the game, the trailer for this game is still the number 1 trailer imo, and its what got me into the next gen of gaming (from GameCube and n64), i had to beg my dad to get me a ps3. I have to thank the creators because I met my best friend on there, I'm from the uk and he lives in Australia and we are still besties after like 10 years. I'm so glad I met him because the amount of fun we have had gaming especially on dead island has honestly made my life.

I love that good times when i went from school directly to play this game and the riptide with friends or alone passing a good time with all the long missons and the lots of things to do, good times not like the new zombie games from now ;l

By far imo the soundtrack/ambient to this is better than RE. The ambient is way better. It kinda matches with the new zombie games out now. This is one holds dear memories.

Just completed the remastered version after originally completing it on the PS3. Still thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere is spot on and the soundtrack is incredibly well produced, just like it's relative Dying Light.
Currently playing through Riptide remaster as I never got round to playing that one.
