Game Recap: Celtics 124, Mavericks 95

The Celtics defeated the Mavericks, 124-95, snapping Dallas’ 7-game win streak. Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 29 points, 10 assists, and a season-high 14 rebounds, his 1st triple-double of the season and the 2nd of his career, while Jaylen Brown added 19 points and seven rebounds in the victory. Luka Doncic tallied 23 points, nine rebounds, and three assists for the Mavericks in the losing effort. The Celtics improve to 27-12 on the season, while the Mavericks fall to 22-17.

The NBA defensive rules are terrible. The players can't do anything except follow the offensive player to the rim. They can't guard a three-point shot because they'll get kicked by the shooter and called for the and-one. They can't defend the basket or a illegal defense is called. Hand-checking, face-guarding, body to body and hand/ball contact is a thing of the past. It's not even challenging for players anymore. You know for a fact that you can score anywhere. At 1:14, look at that silly defensive set. Four guys are in the same area watching one player. He's got a man diving to the rim and three others set up at the 3-point line. One defender is caught between rotating to the cutter or covering his man at the three. Twenty years ago, 11 would've would've clamped up on the ball handler, Doncic would've stayed up on Tatum, but nope, the defense just sagged off casually and he hit a three. At least bring the hand check back and cause the offensive some discomfort, because it's a shootaround nightly lol.

NBA is weird. First Boston loses to Thunder 150 to 114 or something and then Boston beats Dallas by 30 points, which means that Thunder is going to beat Dallas by 65 points in 2 days times 😀

Mavs had 16 assists combined. Also in Luca's monster game they just had around 20. That's just not a good team.
