Some great tips, here. Something else that is good is to group plants and they help to increase the humidity around them. I cook a lot with an Instant Pot and when I release the steam I do it in my dining room where I have a lot of plants and this helps, too. I don't use the drying setting on my dishwasher. Instead, I crack the door open when the cycle is finished to release the moist air and dry the dishes this way (at least I do this when I am home). My natural humidity is around 40% and I have a couple of humidifiers (nothing fancy). With my humidifiers I have about 50-55% humidity.

Humidity/hygrometers have been SO helpful this summer as I've gotten into plants. I put one outside in my 'greenhouse' (plastic covered shelf), one inside, and one in my cellar. We run a dehumidifer in the summer in the basement so I was able to check if that was working for humidity as well. I can't wait to see how sad my humidity is this winter! (Vermont girl here, so similar climate to Michigan!).

I have a ton of Alocasias and Aroids and live in Alberta, Canada. Which is SUPER DRY. A really good trick I learned from Orchid growers is using a top dressing of Sphagnum moss. It holds 3 times its weight in water and holds the moisture in around the plant. I do this for my Syngoniums and my Calathea Orbifolia which I put in the shower twice a week and its in a 10" pot now from a 4" and keeps putting out 2-3 new leafs every couple weeks. I am currently testing Orchid bark as it looks nicer on top but seems to dry out within 2 days. The spagmum moss will stay moist a generally will become dry when its time to water. This is how I know its time to water. Generally every 6 days ish.

Keeping many plants in a room also raises humidity because they transpire (sweat) . I have not studied exactly much but it sounds like agood experiment. I live near the Chesapeake bay. (Western shore) and our humidity is always 50 percent on up. Some days its like a rainforest lol

Humidifier question real quick: are we supposed to be shutting off our humidifiers at night? I read that plants don't like their foliage to be damp at night as that promotes fungal growth and my humidifier sprays almost directly onto some of my plants and there's no where to move it or them. (Small, small apartment.) So should I be shutting it off at night? I have an elechomes humidifier the white 5.5 liter top fill one the same one as you made a video about a while back if that makes a difference! So it's not running all night, it just turns on when my humidity dips below 60%.
