That’s Not coal. It’s charcoal .
Coal comes from a coal mine. Charcoal comes from your campfire.

As a Ranger myself I’ll tell y’all neither I nor anyone else in the entire Ranger Regiment has ever carried coal on any mission ever 😂

No.
Regular coal or charcoal can't be used to purify water or remove toxins.
For this, a very specific kind is needed, called Activated Charcoal, made in a way that makes it have very low density and a porous structure, so chemicals get "absorbed" by it and neutralised.

1. As many pointed out it's charcoal, not coal
2. Remember to avoid charcoal from coniferous tree wood for medical or higien usage as they contain tar and tar-like substances
3. best charcoal for medical use doesn't come from campfire as the heat is uncontrollable and you have a fairly big chance of getting a piece of wood with it into your system. Try making it using cans or other materials; you can find plenty of tutorials on youtube

Charcoal is also used to help people with Datura posion
Its a deadly deliriant (Deliriants are like extremely powerful psychedelics except the trip is torturous to your mind and body and the suffering you experience in your head makes you go insane. Think of it like living millions of lifetimes of extreme torture both mentally and "physically" feeling the pain even if its in your head.)
Datura trips can last from 3 days to a few months but the hallucinations never fully go away.

POINT BEING
Charcoal can be used to treat or at least help dull the effects in a number of plant toxins

however, it is important to know that dirty coal can be safe while clean coal can be dangerous

I could be wrong but i believe this is also how we used to pump stomachs for poisoning too, charcoal helps get stuff out of the stomach in emergency situations

I ate a bottle of Kolonopin once, they took me to the hospital and had me drink charcoal about 24oz's maybe more. I chugged it, nurse said shed never seen anyone drink it so fast, "well i wasn't trying to enjoy it" after the hospital i went to the Nut House where i got into an altercation with a staff member who knew my Dad and myself as a kid, so he had the orderlys put me in 5 point restraints ( head arms and legs). Around that time the charcoal started coming out and you cant really stop it, it just pours out the backdoor. So i spent the whole night shatting myself strapped to a bed that was more like a table. Luckily i was still pretty high from the kolonopin.
The following morning i "found" a pair of womans jeans, they were capris with butterflies on the butt pockets, i put them on then managed to squeeze under the fence around the smoking area.
Dont do drugs kids.
