House Speaker Mike Johnson working to prevent government shut down after the SAVE Act was voted down

House Speaker Mike Johnson must develop a new plan to prevent a potential government shutdown after the spending bill and SAVE Act were voted down in the House.

The bills should be approved one at a time and then people can vote up or down. We have to reign in spending.

He doesn't need another plan. He needs to grow a pair and stand his ground. Sadly, I doubt he will do anything but capitulate.

When did Congress first fail the American people in a very bad way? That would be back in 1913, when it passed the Federal Reserve Act, giving control of our monetary system over to a foreign banking system. Our country's debt to GNP ratio ranged from 16% back in 1929 with 17 billion in debt, then it grew all the way up to 119% following World War II with a 269 billion debt, but settled back down over time to a 35% debt ratio by 1970, with a debt of 371 billion and stayed in the 30 percentile debt range all the way until 1984 with an increased debt ratio of 38% and with a debt of 1.5 trillion, being a 400% increase of our national debt in just 14 years. That is way beyond being irresponsible, considering no war or major catastrophe was is taking place at that time to warrant it. You would think Congress and the Fed would have acted upon addressing that debt then, but no. From that time on is when Congress and the Fed began to really fail the American people on a regular basis, by spending far more money than actual revenue, with no real attempts to bring spending under control and to pay down our national debt. Today we are at 122% of our GDP, with a national debt of over 33 trillion dollars. This goes way beyond failing the American people. That is powerful evidence of our government being corrupt to its very core, not that we need any more evidence. This is why we must have a convention of states to address this. We must add a balanced budget amendment to our Constitution, with a clause that mandates our debt be paid off in 30 years.
