Experian never sent the $125 checks, neither will Turbotax.

Surprised it took this long for them to get penalized...people seemed to be ok with paying for something advertised as free..it made no sense to me.

Do the math; this groundbreaking settlement is only equal to apx $28 per person. The only winner here is the lawyers.

Hope they refund to people filling tax using Turbo (who got impacted in reality) and not to shareholders.

What will likely happen is that they will only be providing the $30 per year for those returns filed 2016, 17 and/or 18 where the customer qualified to use FreeFile - ie - less than $34K AGI (married with $68K) and certain other qualifications, but wound up getting charged for a different version. If you didn't meet the eligibility for that program and didn't pay anything, you won't get anything back.

so we getting checks? been using their "free" for years and I guess it was only for this year or maybe the last when I realized later it had a cost to file but not import your data. did I read all the fine prints maybe not but definitely signed up for the free version so idk what advertisement or trickery that they did to let me switch to pay to file my taxes

Am pretty sure they took a lot more that 141 Million.

So, they're going to pay us back for their fraud, but there is no way of filing a claim, or any statement of how the money will be refunded

Finally, this cheap chiseling company gets caught ripping off folks. Used their Quicken program for years as they pared down it's functionality repeatedly. No more ever.
