Space & Water Saving Sink Toilet Combo

The toilet/sink combination...just flush the toilet and the fresh water supply flows through the faucet and down the sink into the toilets holding tank for the next flush. This was the solution we came up with to provide a sink in our super small bathroom (water closet) #portlandia

I made it. It's a DIY project. You have to buy a 1 1/2" diamond tipped whole saw and drill 2 wholes through the toilet tank lid (one for the faucet and one for the sink drain). I picked up a salad bowl and then drilled a whole in the salad bowl. I Bought a faucet spout and routed a piece of tubing from the flush valve through the spout. I also had to buy a couple plumbing fittings at the hardware store to mount the faucet spout and sink bowl. Cheers!

Thanks so much Ryan for the great idea. By following your instructions I also made one. The 1 1/2 inch diamond bit was perfectly sized to the bowl drain.

Perfect! Then you can wash immediately wash your hands after you’re done using the toilet!

I love this idea. If you built a bathroom with this in mind you could save a lot of space and water! Probably best to use in a lavatory and not your main bathroom though.

I think you could have a small upgrade like: to fill "fresh water" ONLY when the toilet cap being opened (when it is going to be used). So, normally the toilet tank is empty, then you can wash hands everytime on demands with a button.

Hello, any ideas on how to keep the toilet flush clean inside, without constantly cleaning the toilet flush filling mechanism from suds?

Can you hook hot water to it ? If not you can't properly wash and disinfect hands with cold water. Would hand soap damage the inside of toilet tank? Ive heard it could

Why is it gross? That's clean water thats going into the toilet tank anyway.

Absolutely not at all WORTH it.

Terrible WATER pressure, hardly anything coming OUT of the tap, it'd take til DOOMSDAY to wash your hands in that, plus you can look forward to a toilet bowl full of grey water AFTERWARDS 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
