My older brother was an avid outdoorsman’s, settled down with a wife and child.
I begged him 4-5 times to watch this movie which he finally did.
He told me I was an ass, etc etc. I hit him hard and profoundly. He had spent time in Alaska in 1975 and loved the space and fishing.
Can’t explain the rest. I love this movie and watch it once every 4-5 years.

The movie and book were fantastic..Eddie singing the soundtrack made it even better.

This movie was pretty fantastic. One of my favorite scenes was the one where the older guy says goodbye to Chris and the older guy starts crying. Made me cry. Powerful scene. Powerful movie. Powerful message.

I don't think the emotions of joy and pain this movie/book portrayed could have been captured in song any better than with Eddie's voice. Still love this album and still dig the movie and book years later.

I watched the movie many times. It still makes me cry. My wife and I went to north Idaho. It was like his journey. I lived in a log cabin. A real log cabin built from the bottom up. In the old way. Logs from the land.

Amazing movie!! Life isn't about just earning money... Its about enjoying the beauty of nature and having new experiences. And an important msg from the movie : Happiness only real when shared. :-)

Quando Assisti esse filme em 2007 mudou a forma de como via a vida...
Nem imaginaria que hoje 15 anos depois, estaria me preparando para se mudar para um ambiente junto a natureza com minha esposa e dois filhos.

Sad, powerful, and tragic, in my opinion. He needed to draw a line in the dirt somewhere. I am glad we can learn from his adventure and mistakes. We all go through life learning and making mistakes. I get why he through a promising career and grad school away. Find life as it is meant to be lived. He should have listened to the mentors he associated with along the way, though. Still, he lived a very full life. I am glad to read the book and to have seen the film many years ago. The soundtrack is just dynamite. IT reminds me of Dave Matthews solo album from around the same time. Both were favorites of the time.
Sean Penn knows how to select stories of interest. His Secret Life of Walter Mitty was a gem.

This song reminds me of one of the guys I used to talk to. We really bonded over this movie/soundtrack. It was like we were soulmates. We didn’t work out and don’t talk anymore, but I still love listening to this song. I’ve always had a strong taste for adventure and exploring the wilderness and this movie makes me want to go out even more.
