Ever since I heard this on the radio this song has really hit home for me as a Detroiter. This city has seen so many people take advantage of it, abandon it, and dismiss it. We set the world on wheels, created so much popular culture, built the music world, and established the middle class, but nobody seems to care about her. Yet she has the strongest soul I've ever seen in an American city. People like you and say NYC, Chicago, and LA are the most cultured, but Detroit is truly the heart and soul of America. The uncrushable, unflappable, hardworking, working class center of the world. And I'm proud she's always gonna be a part of me.
