This is a test to see what Nvidia's DSR does for contact visibility and flickering in IL2 BoX.

Game settings are on ultra, with all Anti-Aliasing options off (FXAA/MSAA).
Sharpening and SSAO are off.

Reshade is used, but only color filters. No AA or sharpening.

Contacts are around 3Km away for the duration of the clips, and no camera zoom is used. The zooming is post-edited so we can better see what is happening to the pixels.

The first clip shows 1080p vs 3 different DSR resolutions. Smoothing is set to 30%.
DSR seems to reduce some of the flickering, but the darkness of the contacts are reduced too.

30% difference in smoothing seems to make little difference in this case.

The reduction in darkness of the contacts seem detrimental for spotting, and personally the intense flickering sometimes helps draw my eyes to the targets.

Unfortunately, DSR does not seem to help with contact visibility, but it does improve the flickering issue from a image quality standpoint as expected.

Further tests will be performed with the addition of in-game FXAA/MSAA settings, and sharpening to DSR.
