I love kippers but under the threat of divorce I was forced to find a method cooking them without, in Jacob’s words, “Stinking the house out for days”
I discovered John West kippers in a can, jolly fine kippers without the pervasive smell and with no possibility of choking on the bones

Do not bake kippers, you will stink out your oven for three weeks. The best way is to fry them or if you have the fillets microwave them in the bag. Also wrap up the remains in newspaper and throw them out in your main outside bin, don’t put the remains in your kitchen bin and immediately clean your frying pan after eating otherwise you will have to live with the smell.
