I remember talking my mum into getting this game by telling her it was educational. I was in the middle of a kill frenzy in the dead of the night and my dad comes down and watches me playing the game. I told him it was a driving simulator and was driving around carefully until I accidentally hit a pedestrian, luckily my dad bought the bait when I told him that I’d have points deducted for that accident 😂

1997, my classmate had this game on PC and we've spent entire weekends on stealing cars and shooting pedestrians.
The fact that there was finally a game that enabled you to be a criminal instead of the stereotypical good guy, was revolutionary.
This game is really a piece of digital history, eventually spawning the most successful gaming franchise ever.

When I was like 10 years old, I was playing the demo, that allowed you to play for two minutes. Then a friend of my brother came along with 17 diskettes that had the full version. The whole installation process and following gameplay made this one of the best days of my life.
