The media is very biased on who they consider “kids” and who they do not. We don’t extend this much grace to underprivileged, low educated actual kids.

To be clear - not kid. They were inexperienced adults. A kid would not be expected to now that there are laws governing how one handles other people's money. An adult is expected to recognized this basic fact.

Nice rundown. Props to Rey for keeping SBF at arm's length; there have been many critics of the overly friendly treatment that Congress gave SBF over the past month. Very interested to see if SBF's parents are implicated. During the mortgage collapse of 2007/2008, I had a 401K that lost a lot of investor's retirement money in their so-called "Stable Value Fund" by investing it in mortgage-backed securities. There was subsequently a class-action lawsuit and I believe we were reimbursed for about 20% of the lost money (I'm not sure of the exact amount but I think it was between 10% and 30%). Let's see how well the burned FTX investors do on recovery.

It will be years before there is a final determination in this case due to lack of documentation alone. Example. Pharma Bro case time etc etc etc and FTX is on another level 🤔💡💥

It's entirely possible that the hole in the balance sheet is bigger than 10 billion. I'm not sure about the total amount withdrawn, but if you compare the total assets held by ftx vs Coinbase which was similar in terms of size, you would expect the total assets held would be a lot higher...

Super grateful I got my stuff off platform before it was too late, and I hope sbf serves a day in jail for every dollar he stole.

Professor, do you believe JR3 will be able to find where money went from all shell companies? Will anyone conduct research on all companies? Or they will let all donations and such money outflow slide out? First info earlier were that 3+bn $ went to companies solely owned by Alameda founders. And after that, not a single information on money trail.

Every investigation requires to follow money trail. Why all YT are focused solely on these two companies and not on others?

Copy and paste his charges for every Market Maker on Wall Street. Only they call it “creating liquidity”. They sell you shit that they don’t have, fail to deliver it, pay a small fine. Rinse and repeat.
