The audio clip is from a cartoon from the 90’s called Duckman. The heartbreaking context is he’s talking to his past self before he marries his wife. Truth is his wife died shortly after and his life has been a mess ever since. Still trying to raise his sons and trying to hide his broken heart and soul and in turn, his family losses respect for him but still love him. Their mother figure is his wife’s sister doing most of the parenting. And Duckman keeps his toil within him and makes a smile to hide his pain. But when he meets his past self, an opportunity to remove the choice he’s made. He tells him the truth “you’re going to love her for the rest of your life” showing that the time with his wife was the best he’s ever lived. And he wouldn’t have traded that for anything in the whole world.

I initially went for 2 because she gave off the seasoned professional/experienced vibe: "oh, this isn't gonna end well for him, but there's nothing I can do about it since he seems dead set in his ways by marrying her, so whatever bad is gonna happen will happen", but I see how it's number 1 and how she's a newbie because it reads all over her face and she's like "oh shit, I know this isn't gonna end well for him but I don't want to scare him/I'm scared to tell him the truth, so imma hold back". I feel both are the correct answer, but in terms of who's obviously holding back, it's number 1.

It's 1! She looks disturbed after seeing whatever she saw, and the way she said "you're gonna love her until the day you die", it's almost as if she feels guilty for not telling the entire truth.

#1 knows more than she's telling, when her eyes are glowing you can see her gulp and looking *disturbed* after what she saw and then proceeds to look down after/while saying "you're gonna love her 'til the day you die" (hope this makes sense!)

Both convey this in different ways. One is more obvious because she gulps when she sees the vision, her smile drops, and her face is more tense. Two takes on a more subtle approach with how she maintains her smile and friendly expression but avoids eye contact. I think at one point her smile falters too.

1 and 2 both have their own signs. For example, 1 looks slightly off like she's seeing something strange or odd, but two avoided eye contact and looked down like she was ashamed or felt bad.

In #1 she looks like she saw Beatrices death but also the man's love for her endures past that until the day he dies. Maybe she knows that he would leave Beatrice if he saw the pain ahead but knows its a path of true love. It was really well acted and communicated so much with such small expression changes

I think it's #2, which is why she's able to understand and come to terms with that information. #1 sees it for the first time but also has to conceal the fact that she just learned about their future

#1 doesn’t just look like she’s holding back information. She looks like she’s holding back her own sadness. Like whatever she saw was incredibly sad.

definitely understand everything that's saying 1, but there's an argument to be made for 2.

1 is nervous and restrained (compare the blink before the white eyes), almost like she's new at fortune-telling, the kind of person that wears their heart on their sleeve. Maybe she's worried about the newfound powers she has, and even has a little longing for the true love she may have spotted.

2, however, is confident from the beginning (see: blink from before), experienced even. She knows the kinds of things she plays with with her visions. That's why, after a powerful experience like fortune-telling, her face returns to normal so quickly. But, as time goes on, you can see the slightest of tension in her lips, and then BAM! She looks down. She avoids the other guy's look. She's used to telling half-truths and getting away with it -- that doesn't make her feel happy about it when it's over.

(If I had to bet I'd still go 1, just thought going devil's advocate would be fun lol)
