Bought my 2008 exl accord at 121k and it was essentially a brand-new vehicle. I've driven it to 210k over 7 years of ownership. I gotta say, right around 175k to 200k several engine accessories needed replaced. I changed the starter, alternator, and timing chain assembly. I just recently had suspension bushings and a wheel hub replaced. Other people may have different experiences, I have driven mine like a bat outta hell, and spent 2 years in a cold northern state with harsh winters and road salt. I went from a 2003 chevy cavalier with a 5 speed, to this. It was like driving a supercar compared to what I was used to. Fun trivia fact, Honda has been a successful participant in F1 racing since 1964. They are a racing company that builds cars to stay afloat.

For me, the best is the 1992 Accord, then the 2006 Accord, then the 2011 Accord.
For me, the prettiest, the 1992, then 2006-2007, then 2018.
For me, the most reliable, the 2006, then the 1992, then the 2011.
Greetings for Chile

I bought a 2013 Honda accord EXL four-cylinder at Carmax at the end of 2021 with only 40, 000 miles and I absolutely love the car. I’m about to hit 70, 000 miles right now and knock on wood I haven’t had any issues so far with the 2.4L Earthdreams technology.

Man your a legend. Never thought that kids could not drive a manual. That's a good enough reason for me too get a manual. Better fuel as well.

I own a 2010 Exl 190hp Accord. Bought it in 2013 with 50, 000 miles for 16grand. It now has 210, 000 miles, I have OCD with maintenance to keep it honest. But the car has been bulletproof and absolutely love it. Side note there are 2 4cylinders offered one has 177hp and the other 190hp. Watch out for that.

I had the 2006 7th Gen Accord with a 2.4 Liter engine and it is also one of the best Accord you can buy. It had over 400, 000 kilometers when I bought it and just changed the spark plugs, tires and battery and drove it for 50, 000 more kilometers with no problems.

I have to agree and another note, super easy to modify and do headgasket work too! I bought mine off a guy for 1200 because his head gasket went bad! I replaced it along with the intake gasket and added a few modifications to get it looking nice!

I can attest to this fact! I drive an ex-government 8th gen Honda Accord 2.4 (here is Malaysia it's rebadges as Proton Perdana, for VIP government officials). Bought it ridiculously cheap at 50k mileage. Now sailing to 200k. Drives like brand new! Only regular oil changes and services since then. And yeah, a busted front shaft at 190k service. Other than that, looks like it could easily go to the moon and back! It's comfortable, solid, spacious, superb gas mileage. Like you said, this is the time when Honda nailed it perfect. Later generations only add more complications and technology which does put a dent in Honda's reputation for reliability. I think for all automakers the sweet spot for reliable cars is between the late 90s and early 2000s where there is a fine balance between mechanical reliability and technology complexity.

More of a Toyota/Lexus guy here but like Hondas too. Had two manual Accords - a 2003 4 cylinder and now a 2014 v6 coupe. The Honda manuals are great, and this 2014 V6 with the standard I got is a blast to drive. I think you hit the nail on the head about the simple engines before 2013 in the 4 cylinder engines and also the automatic transmission issues on Hondas. My dad has a 2012 CRV with the same 2.4L and it's very solid but I do maintain the transmission to try to keep the fluid fresh.

Great video!

I agree, the 8th gen was definitely peak Accord.

I agree with the author of this video 100%. It is a great reliable car. Those K24Z are great engines. Transmission is ok, I mean it is absolutely non sporty or I would even say slow, but it is reliable if you change fluid on time. And those who talk and complains about oil burn. Buy those used Accords where previous owners had heads on their shoulders and changed oils not more than 5k miles, and it will not burn oil even after 200K miles. In case it will, those burns will be minor and quite acceptable. In comparison with modern vehicles 2010-2012 are solid bulletproof vehicles! And it is also true that those Aisin transmission in Toyotas are better than Honda made ones. Well, take care about your transmissions. Drive gently. Accord is not a sports car so drive it accordingly and change your fluids on time
