This is an honest review of the Point 65 North's Tequila two piece kayak. Figured since I was sinking and had to spend some time draining it. What better time to do a review then right then and there
Below is the kayak and Accessories I used

Yak attack gear track

Scotty gear head track adapter

I've now had my Point 65 Falcon for just over two years of heavy use and it hasn't failed me yet! No leaks.

I have had my Point 65 for about four years now and have had zero problems. My kayak does not flex like that at all. I go on lakes and the ocean and have been in choppy waters with no problems. I find it to be extremely stable.

Hi Richard here from Point 65. We have reached out to the reviewer many times and also posted comments on the youtube clip that disappear. We just had another e-mail from an interested buyer asking us about this review. A leaking section is extremely rare. And if it is a manufacturing fault we will exchange it immediately under warranty.
Leaks do happen if the worker is sloppy when removing the kayak from the mold. But over the last 20 years I have had less than 10 cases where this has happened.

If it is a puncture from an accident (the plastic is very tough so would have to a major force) such a puncture would take 10 minutes to seal and is very easy to do. The same goes for any plastic kayak.
The advantage with a modular kayak is that it would not sink as only the section with the hole would fill with water. A regular kayak would fill completely and sink.

So again, we don't understand why this reviewer has mede this review so one sided and without allowing us to comment or exchange or repair his kayak.
If you read the comments there are many who are happy with our kayaks and also comment with surprise that the review does not mention how easy it is to repair and more.

Thank you for the review. I'm trying to research this kayak, but so many videos are from distributors, and so few show the real challenges with the product.

My (second hand) Point 65 North tequila was perfectly stable and safe on open sea, tested plenty of times on some 3.5 -4 m high waves. I frequently took it out for 9-10 km trips, nothing worrying apart from me occasionally getting sea sick, due to not seeing the horizon line between the waves. It may seem that your drain plugs aren't properly sealed, maybe faulty o-rings. That's a 50cent worth of repair to fix the problem. Or just completely seal it with silicone. I had numerous kayaks over the last 14 years. Out of all of these, the Tequila was by far the best compromise in terms of practicality (can be transported inside any car), lightness (each half weighs less than 14kg), versatility on any kind of water, ease of paddling, stability, direction on open water and wind, and even - yes- relative speed. As a plus I used to carry all my spearfishing equipment on it - which is both pretty heavy and voluminous. So, in my opinion, it's a pretty great entry level hobby kayak. And much more.

In my ww Perception Arc I poured expanding foam into the bow and stern. It couldn't sink if it wanted to! Just a thought...

Old Town Vapor 10, 44 lbs., Sit in- but very large cockpit/opening (easy entry/exit)tracks well and is stable. A buddy bought one last Thursday $319. I'm on my 3rd season, rivers, creeks, lakes, ponds - all good. Best 300 I ever spent!

Point 65 came out with a new angler kayak called the kingfisher. It’s pricier but I just got one. I haven’t taken it out yet because the ports are closed but materials wise it looks solid

I have the Point 65 Martini, a modular sit inside. Used it probably 20-30 outings. No problems so far.

That's quite an easy fix with a plastic welder. bit of screen and those strips. I've repaired 10 holes > 1 inch in th floor of my Ocean kayak and the repairs have held for > 8yrs.

Some inflatables are 👌 in glassy water. It has a detachable fin. I have one. But I also have a 17' plastic sea yak.

Aren't there supposed to be plugs in those drain holes? Mine has plugs

I totally understand, I bough a Tequila from point 65 too. Worst buying ever, the parts does not fit properly together. The tracking is a big issue if your purpose is paddling. I do not recommend this model neither this brand.

This kayak looks like it has not had good care due to it's sun damage.

This is an unfortunate review. I understand this guy is disappointed, but anyone who owns one of these kayaks will notice that this one looks awful. How many holes have been drilled into it? You even have an open hole in the rear where the flex rack used to be.... no wonder it leaks! Also, it looks to have been left in the sun for months (maybe inside a car?). The color and the flex of the material do not look normal. As to the kayak, I bought mine because it comes apart so I can transport it and store it easily. Period. No, it's not the fastest kayak I ever used, but it does what it says on the package. I can fit it in my car, then unload it and be on the lake in 5 mins. If I had more space, yes I too would have bought something cheaper.

How did you install the rod holders at the back? They don’t come standard but looks like you have modified with some form of a channel.

Just drill another hole for the water to run out 🤨😏😆

Buy the sit inside one from menards. It’s cheap, great weight limit, and easy to use.
