Gene - I totally agree with what you said about this channel versus the larger Potato Jet channel. I prefer this one (but watch both), because it’s like hangin’ with a friend, as opposed to the more tech-oriented main channel. Keep up the good work.

ubiquity is a brand of networking hardware, most notably their Uni-fi line of wireless gear. You are getting full gigabit out of your router, but due to inherent technical limits of wifi you will never get more than about 600 Mbps out of wifi. The way to get the full gigabit to your computer is by going hardwired to your PC via Ethernet.

So what you probably need to do for your network is to get some Ubiquity access points and hard wire them with ethernet into your router to get top speeds throughout. Also you'll get the best connection if your most important stuff is hooked up with ethernet into the router. You could run ethernet throughout the house in the walls like a pro.
