5:00 Wow, that’s fast! I’m building the Giant Power Plant now and will be taking it to the 2024 convention. Perhaps I’ll see you there. I like your change to the tower construction.

I just built this with my 1959 No. 10083 Amusement Park Set. I always wanted to build it since I was a kid, and I am 68 now. Like a lot of the model instructions in the book, they just give you basic instructions and the parts to use. I can see that you made modifications to yours. For one, you made 4 square beams using 4 12" channel pieces each to support the top of the tower instead of single channels bent in a curve with crossed 5" channels attached to them like your drawing shows. My instructions for gearing the motor to drive the model makes it go too slow, so I will change that to make it run faster like yours. I also see that you used the flexible shaft to drive the governor. My instructions show it driven with a string from a (DB) motor pulley on the end of the motor output shaft. Did you just use the drawing as a guide, or did you have some written instructions too? I had the Carousel with the record player built and took it apart to build the Power Plant. I also just took apart the Parachute Ride I made from another set I have. Do you collect Erector sets? I have a nice collection of them including a 1929 Zeppelin Set and a couple Hudson Locomotive sets. Thanks for this video.
