Vivaro service & Cost breakdown reveal. Vinnie project pt.15.

Project Vinnie is well overdue a service, here's what we did.
Also here's a run down of how much it has cost to date. What do think?

Having a 2006 model myself that is bargain of the century. I have spent over £3000 in past 2 years on numerous things on it mostly on electrical gremlin with starting. Nobody ever changes gearbox oil and when did mine it was more like tar than oil. What a difference that made to gear changes. For piece of mind change handbrake cable as they are notorious for snapping especially when you have a full tank cause you have to drop fuel( you now can buy straps for tank off eBay🙏 as dealership will only sell you a new tank to get straps that rust through at £600) tank to change. Also once every 6 months or so take fuse box off and give a spray of electrical contact cleaner and wait to dry completely to blue plug connector ( is for electronic throttle) as it faces up and gets water down it and you get stuck with no throttle. Keep up the great work as there is not much out there regarding trouble shooting this model as I have had many long days off work to sort these issues.

Hi would you recommend changing a gearbox myself I'm quite handy with tools could I do it in a day as I need my van for work

Give that square door handle iron "screwdriver", when in place, a thump on the end with a hammer. That will give the thread a jolt, which usually losens the thread and enanble you to twist it out without busting a gut.

Its always the same with vehicles. A bolt or whatever gets stuck because some Gorilla who worked on the vehicle previously swung off it when they did it up! 😆
