Sooo it's OK for companies to train AI on pirated movies but if a friend wants to watch that movie it's "illegal"

It should be illegal to call yourself "open" if nothing you do is "open" in the least.

Can we get a story about how the Broadcom VMware acquisition is screwing everyone out of their perpetual licenses

Well, a one-word Tim Apple impression is better than none at all.

I've never heard Tim Cook speaking, so for me Riley's impressions of Tim Apple are canon

"5%... that sounds low, but that's almost 1 in 20!" Good ole fractions coming to the rescue of 'low sounding' percentages.

Riley’s comedic delivery is THE best on the LTT squad, and it’s not even close.

TLDR: Intel is Out of RMA Replacement CPU's for customers and there is as much as a Month wait for replacements.

Customer of mine brought in his gaming rig months ago with crashing issues. I diagnosed it was either the CPU or Motherboard. I didn't have a CPU or Mobo to AB test his parts in, but I was able to test everything else... I had him RMA the Mobo because "How often do CPUs just Fail?" Turns out his 13900K was the problem and by the time the RMA of the Motherboard was dealt with and I went as far as buying a Mobo and CPU to use for AB testing as verification, the news of the failing CPUs started to break... Today Intel informed him that they are Out of Stock of replacement CPUs and it could be a Month or more to get the replacement!

0:58 Not a microcode error, simply microcode. That's an important distinction because the voltage could've been intentionally high.

That was my favorite quick bits intro I've ever heard. Good job Riley

Sounds like computer chips are going to be like a basket of tortilla chips for a while. You might pick up one that stabs you in the gums and makes you wish you never reached into the bowl.

Samsung making side loading more difficult while Apple makes it easier is not something I ever thought would happen

It's not just a "micro code error".

Good lord these damn tech companies just cannot get a freaking grip. There's constant problems literally everywhere, like come on guys increase your quality control

Moore's Law is Dead says that he's got sources that say that the Intel ring bus is cooking itself, and that the microcode is not gonna fix the issue, just delay the degradation.

I feel like blocking sideloading is a good layer of security, if you can just turn it off when you need to sideload something and turn it back on again.

Microcode is NOT the cause for Intel CPU instability. It's just a contributing factor. The real cause is ringbus being on the same voltage domain as CPU cores and getting cooked.
